Three-pass wetback scotch marine boiler. Fuel efficiencies exceed most four-pass designs. No large refractory rear door, allows one technician easy access to tubes. Front doors can be opened without removing burner components or controls.
Four pass wetback scotch marine boiler designed for optimum fuel efficiency. No heavy refractory back doors or baffles to replace or maintain resulting in thousands in savings over the life of the boiler. The Series 500 wetback has independent tube sheets with uniform temperatures eliminating premature tube failure and cracks in the tube sheet.
Built in accordance with the ASME Code, the wet back design has proven to give much longer useful life cycles than dry back boilers.

Boiler and Burner Technology Engineering for a Cleaner Environment. Hurst Boiler and LOW NOx have become synonymous names within the boiler industry. Hurst Boiler & Welding Company developed its first low emission boiler in 1992, and has been incorporating new technologies to improve upon this ever since. Available for any liquid or gaseous fuel. Sizes from 100 to 2500 horsepower with pressures to 450 PSI.
The HBC Blowdown Separator is designed to take water from the boiler during blowdown and reduce it to atmospheric pressure for disposal. The HBC Separator accomplishes this by separating the subsequent flashed steam from the hot water. As the blowdown enters the vessel, it is forced into a centrifugal pattern by means of a striking plate. The steam is vented to the atmosphere through a top connection. The HBC Blowdown Separator provides an economical means of safe boiler blowdown.

Industrial Package Watertube Boilers | Solid Fuel Boilers
English Boiler and Tube, Inc., recognized as a leading industrial watertube boiler manufacturer, is located in Richmond, Virginia. English Boiler & Tube, Inc. originated in 1963, primarily as a Mechanical Contractor specializing in Field Assembly and repair of Industrial Watertube Boilers. However, as the company grew in size, it began to design and fabricate components for other boiler manufacturers, eventually leading to the design and fabrication of their first boiler under the English name in 1987.
The "CP" boiler consists of two parallel drums, configured such that the upper drum is considerably longer than the lower drum. In addition the boiler has two (2) lower sidewall headers that run the complete length of the boiler setting and help to configure the sidewalls of the boiler's furnace. The "CP" type boiler has been consistently used for over 70 years in typical solid fuel fired configurations for both saturated and superheated steam boilers. The original boilers of this design consisted of tube and tile construction. However, due to engineering advancements in waterwall membrane construction, the furnace sidewalls are now of the membrane design. Typical boilers with tube and tile construction were usually field erected. Boilers with membrane design now are constructed similar to Package Watertube boilers, and are fabricated and assembled in the shop and shipped as modular units.
The English Boiler Hybrid Type Boiler is an enhanced HRT Type boiler designed and fabricated by English Boiler. The boiler consists of a conventional horizontal return tubular (HRT) boiler with enhanced circulation baffles and water cooled membrane waterwalls. Conventional HYBRID boilers manufacturer by other boiler manufacturers, require 5 to 6 sq. ft. of heating surface per BHP, while the English HYBRID Type requires only 3 to 4 sq. ft. per BHP for the same capacity as a conventional Hybrid boiler.
Construction for all Unilux boilers starts with the vessel. All vessel material is controlled, ASME compliant material. Generous upper and lower drums are joined with large, external downcomer(s) allowing for maximum internal circulation. Tubes are a minimum 1.5” diameter, SA 178 Grade “A” material. Tube sizes up to 2.5” diameter are used for larger boilers. The Unilux housing is the most rigid available. Individual steel panels are manufactured with 11 gauge steel and reinforced by bending and welded stiffeners throughout. Refractory design is exclusive to Unilux. We utilize a three tier pour of different tolerance refractory for ultimate performance. All Unilux refractory is warranted for 5 years as standard. Finished insulated jacket panels are scratch resistant, polyester impregnated powder coat. Thermal losses from housing and jacket are 0.5 percent. The completed enclosure allows for up to +5” water column gas side pressure. All Unilux boilers are available with fuel burning equipment and control systems as desired.
For space heating applications, or wherever low pressure steam (up to 15 PSI) is needed, trust the Unilux “LS” series low pressure steam boiler.
